12 Barbells of Christmas

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is going to my gym and participating in a workout called “12 Barbells of Christmas.” Unfortunately, this year i was dwaling with a pulled pec and wasn’t able to participate outside of taking pictures of my friends and other gym members. That being said it was a blast to be able to hang out with them and pull out the camera. If you’re interested in doing the workout, I’ll post a screenshot of the movements.

A day with President Garfield

I was going through old pictures today and found these, which I took back in exactly on this day back in 2015. I remember that day vividly. A friend of mine named Andy would constantly suggest we go take pictures together but would never give me a good time. He owns a deli and was understandably busy supporting his family. However, we worked it out that I would ride with him to help pick up stuff from a vendor and on the way we would stop at the historic Lakeview Cemetery, the final resting place for John D Rockefeller and other notable Clevelanders.

what I didn’t know was that President James A. Garfield was also buried at the cemetery. His memorial also serves as his mausoleum, and you can actually go and view his coffin lying in rest. Garfield, unfortunately, was one of the few US Presidents that was assassinated. Anyway, the memorial is this beautiful stone building and we spent about an hour taking pictures. These are some of my favorites.

All in all it was an educational day.

An Unexpected(and Cute) Visitor

Working out in my garage is something I do about everyday. Monday however, Mosby and I had an adorable unexpected visitor. this little squirrel came walking up the driveway, between the parked cars, making a b-line to the garage. Mosby was not having any of it and started barking intensely at the little guy…but he kept walking. I was able to convince him to move into the yard and decided to try and take some pictures of the little guy.

These are the shots I was able to get. Enjoy!

A Day at the Cleveland Metropark Zoo

Just a normal day at Zoo

If you ever have a free Monday and you’re a Cuyahoga County resident in Cleveland, a great place to spend it is at the Cleveland Metropark Zoo.

Thats what my sister and I did this past Monday. I had come home from her fiancée’s bachelor part trip and was planning on recovering, but she suggested we go. Going to be honest, the zoo is one of my favorite places in the world. We have been going there at least once a year for as long as I can remember. I even spent my thirtieth birthday at the zoo. We got there around 10:30 and the place was empty. Normally on Mondays you have to park very far away from the entrance and walk, but because of the looming rainclouds, we got a nice spot right up by the front door. It literally rained ten minutes after we got there, but we didn’t care, and the animals seemed to be enjoying the reprieve from the heat and humidity. First stop is of course the lions, my favorite animals there, then the elephants and the kangaroos. We got to see the infant black rhinoceros that was born in July and all the rest of the animals as we strolled through the part. It was a nice break and always a highlight when you visit.
