A day with President Garfield
I was going through old pictures today and found these, which I took back in exactly on this day back in 2015. I remember that day vividly. A friend of mine named Andy would constantly suggest we go take pictures together but would never give me a good time. He owns a deli and was understandably busy supporting his family. However, we worked it out that I would ride with him to help pick up stuff from a vendor and on the way we would stop at the historic Lakeview Cemetery, the final resting place for John D Rockefeller and other notable Clevelanders.
what I didn’t know was that President James A. Garfield was also buried at the cemetery. His memorial also serves as his mausoleum, and you can actually go and view his coffin lying in rest. Garfield, unfortunately, was one of the few US Presidents that was assassinated. Anyway, the memorial is this beautiful stone building and we spent about an hour taking pictures. These are some of my favorites.
All in all it was an educational day.
